Emergency dental care at M Dental Greenwich
Dental pain has a way of striking at the worst possible moment, and when it does you need to be seen quickly by someone you can trust. At M Dental Greenwich we offer same-day emergency appointments, so patients in pain across SE10 are not left waiting and worrying. Principal dentist Dr Tim Meskhi (GDC 151044) and the team are here to relieve your discomfort, diagnose the problem and get you smiling again. Our practice on Harrison Walk is a short walk from Island Gardens DLR and close to Cutty Sark DLR, making us fast to reach from Greenwich, Blackheath, Deptford, Maze Hill and North Greenwich — and we offer flexible appointment times too.
Whatever has happened, please do not suffer in silence or simply wait to see if it settles. A quick call to our team is the first step to getting comfortable again.
Understanding your dental emergency
A dental emergency is any problem that causes significant pain, swelling, bleeding or the risk of losing a tooth, and it should always be assessed promptly. The situations we treat most often at our Greenwich clinic include:
- Severe toothache or throbbing pain that disturbs your sleep.
- Dental abscesses and facial swelling, which need urgent attention.
- Knocked-out, loose or displaced teeth following an accident or fall.
- Broken, chipped or cracked teeth.
- Lost fillings, crowns or veneers.
- Bleeding or painful gums, or something lodged and causing discomfort.
Using digital X-rays and intraoral cameras, we quickly find the cause, and where a tooth has broken down badly our CEREC technology can often provide a same-day crown, so you leave with the problem properly fixed rather than merely patched up.
Is an emergency appointment right for you?
If you are in real pain, have facial swelling, are bleeding, or have knocked out or badly damaged a tooth, you need an emergency appointment — please call us straight away. Swelling that is spreading, or pain combined with a high temperature, should always be treated urgently, as an untreated infection can become genuinely serious.
If your discomfort is mild — a little sensitivity, or a small chip with no pain — a routine appointment may be all you need, and our team will advise you honestly when you call. In the meantime, over-the-counter painkillers taken as directed and avoiding very hot, cold or hard foods can help keep you comfortable. For a knocked-out adult tooth, time is critical: keep it moist in milk or saliva, avoid touching the root, and contact us immediately, as a tooth reimplanted quickly has a far better chance of survival.
What to expect at our Greenwich clinic
When you call, we will do everything we can to see you the same day. Your emergency appointment focuses first on relieving your pain — with local anaesthetic where needed — and then on diagnosing exactly what has gone wrong, using X-rays and our intraoral camera to see the full picture.
We will explain what we have found in plain language and carry out the treatment needed to make you comfortable, whether that is draining an abscess, dressing a tooth, replacing a lost filling or crown, or providing a same-day CEREC crown. Where more extensive work such as root canal treatment or an extraction is required, we will get you out of pain first and then plan the next steps with you at a pace that feels comfortable. Most patients leave feeling dramatically better, with clear aftercare advice, any prescriptions you need, and any follow-up appointments already arranged before you go.
Emergency dental prices in Greenwich & spreading the cost
An emergency dental appointment at M Dental Greenwich costs from £90 for the urgent assessment and immediate pain relief. Any further treatment you decide to go ahead with — such as a filling, crown, root canal or extraction — is priced separately and always explained clearly before we begin, so you stay in control of the costs even in a stressful moment.
If your emergency reveals the need for more extensive treatment, we offer 0% finance so you can spread the cost into affordable monthly payments rather than facing a large bill all at once. Our priority is always getting you out of pain first; sorting the finances is something we will help you do calmly afterwards.
