Gone are the days when getting a dental crown required two separate appointments, temporary crowns, and weeks of waiting. With CEREC technology, M Dental can design, create, and fit a permanent ceramic crown in a single visit.
What is CEREC?
CEREC (Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) is an advanced CAD/CAM technology that allows your dentist to create custom dental restorations in-office. Instead of taking messy impressions and sending them to a lab, your dentist uses a digital scanner to create a 3D model of your tooth, designs the crown on a computer, and mills it from a solid block of ceramic — all while you wait. The CEREC Process: Step by Step
Step 1: Digital Scanning — Your dentist uses an intraoral camera to capture a precise 3D digital impression of your tooth. No messy putty or uncomfortable trays. Step 2: Digital Design — The CEREC software creates a 3D model of your crown. Your dentist adjusts the shape, size, and colour to match your natural teeth perfectly. Step 3: Milling — The design is sent to an in-office milling machine that carves your crown from a high-quality ceramic block. This takes approximately 15-20 minutes. Step 4: Fitting and Bonding — Your dentist checks the fit, makes any final adjustments, and bonds the permanent crown to your tooth. You leave with a fully restored smile.Benefits of CEREC Same-Day Crowns
